Capabilities

What we are brought in to do.

Six disciplines. Each can be staffed as an embedded engineer, a managed squad, or a scoped piece of work — see how we work.

01

Application Development

Building new services, features and line-of-business applications on .NET — with the structural decisions made deliberately rather than accreted. Clean Architecture, CQRS where it earns its complexity, and a domain model that reflects how the business actually works.

The difference between our code and contractor code is what happens after we leave. Everything we build is tested, documented, and reviewed with your engineers as it is written, so ownership transfers continuously rather than in a handover meeting at the end.

02

Systems Integration

Connecting platforms that were never designed to speak to each other: REST and SOAP services, message queues, event-driven flows, file-based interfaces from systems that expose nothing else, and batch pipelines that have to reconcile exactly.

The hard part of integration is not the happy path. It is what happens when a downstream system is unavailable, a message arrives twice, or a batch half-completes. We design for those cases first — guaranteed delivery, idempotency, dead-letter handling and a reconciliation position you can actually audit.

03

Modernisation

Legacy systems are rarely replaced. They are migrated, in pieces, while continuing to run the business. We work incrementally — carving out bounded pieces, putting tests around them before touching anything, and moving them onto a supported footing without a big-bang cutover.

This work often surfaces defects that have been quietly wrong for years. Correcting a cross-jurisdiction aggregation error in a reconciliation platform mattered more to that client than any of the framework upgrades around it. We look for those.

04

DevOps & Platform Engineering

Making deployment boring. Build and release pipelines, infrastructure as code, environment parity, and the branching and approval model that fits your governance rather than fighting it.

We work across Azure DevOps in both cloud and on-premises forms, GitHub Actions, containerised workloads and Bicep-defined infrastructure — and we are comfortable in regulated environments where change control, segregation of duties and audit evidence are non-negotiable.

05

Automated Testing

Test strategy before test volume. A thousand brittle UI tests are worse than none — they slow the pipeline, fail randomly, and train your team to ignore red builds. We work out what actually needs covering, at which level, and build suites that stay green for the right reasons.

That means unit tests around domain logic, integration tests against real dependencies or credible fakes, contract tests at service boundaries, and a thin layer of end-to-end coverage on the journeys that lose money when they break.

06

Observability & Monitoring

Knowing what your systems are doing before a user tells you. Metrics, logs, traces and health checks wired into dashboards and alerting that reflect business impact rather than CPU graphs nobody watches.

We build with Prometheus, Grafana and the exporter ecosystem, across cloud and on-premises estates — including environments where agent-based APM is constrained or has already caused problems. When something does break, we do the root cause analysis properly and write it up.

Not sure which of these you need?

That is usually the right starting point. Describe the problem and we will tell you what it actually is — including when the answer is that you do not need us.
